Creating a new
partnership

What does Coaching mean and is it relevant for you and your organisation?

  • Each coaching programme is bespoke and will be designed around the needs of the individual and the organisation. We will work on business focussed outcomes that you identify at the start of the coaching (the objectives/goals).
  • The objectives and the ways of working will be set out in an initial agreement between the coach and you ("the coachee"). Your organisation will also provide support for the coaching programme and, where appropriate, provide feedback to help your progress.
  • Trust, encouragement and challenge are at the heart of a special coaching relationship.

"A one to one relationship focused on increasing awareness, understanding and commitment to change through trust and challenge."

Clare Robinson

A typical coaching assignment includes the following:

  • An informal meeting between the coach and the coachee, (sometimes called a "chemistry meeting") which allows both parties to get to know each other, discuss how coaching might work and to decide whether you feel comfortable about working together.
  • Agreement of the arrangements for the coaching ("the contracting") setting out the understanding between the coach and the coachee, the administration arrangements, payment terms, confidentiality and reporting.
  • Where a sponsoring organisation is funding the coaching, an initial meeting with the coachee and his/her line manager to discuss the overall objectives of the coaching from the line manager/organisational perspective.
  • A programme of six one-to-one coaching sessions over a period of approximately six months.
  • An interim review meeting.
  • A final review meeting with the coachee and his/her line manager to discuss the progress made in achieving the overall objectives of the coaching.
